Old77's 2007 Burb "build" thread

WARNING: This thread will probably only be interesting to me :)

The purpose of this thread is to mainly keep track of what I've done with part numbers and stuff in case I want to reference it later as well as keep an updated "to do" list of stuff I want to do next. I also will keep this first post current with "before" and "current" pics so that I can see how it transforms. Sometimes you lose track especially on slow builds and forget how far it's come. This will definitely continue to move slowly but I've added some new things to my future mod list that I think will be cool. Feel free to offer up suggestions and I may stick them on "the list".

 Most of that was made possible because of a year end bonus. The next round of purchases will probably be around tax time :D

Old77 01-04-2013 04:03 PM

Well, just found a killer deal on Concept CLD-700 headrest monitors on eBay. I got 2 (one with built-in DVD) for $100  Now I just need two more and we will be good to go other than the speaker upgrade! :party33:

Old77 01-10-2013 09:15 AM

I had a hard time getting good pics of these but 2 of my headrest monitors arrived yesterday. The other 2 will hopefully show up today.

Yeah, from what I've seen they are pretty good for a mid-level head rest monitor but then again I didn't spend $1200 for them either  I'm pretty excited about them! I hope to do the install within the next week or so. I'll keep you posted :)

Old77 01-24-2013 09:51 AM

Finally started chipping away at the install last night with getting the HU ready for install. I hope to get the monitors in place by the weekend. We shall see how far I can go with this as this is my install attempt. It's a bit overwhelming at times

Old77 02-04-2013 07:41 PM

Here's a pic of the new head unit. Finally got it in! This aspect being new to me (I've always just paid to have them installed) it took me MUCH longer than it should have to install. :)

AFTER

I'm going to start really attacking the headrest monitors on the captains chairs this week and see if I can't get this finished up in the near future.

Old77 02-10-2013 04:16 PM

Forgot to post in this thread :) Here's where this is now and I just completed running the wire today. Should received my RCA adapters on Wednesday and video would be complete in the Burb :win:

Got some things left to button up but for all intents and purposes it's installed. Kids should be ecstatic!

Bout time!

Old77 02-20-2013 10:05 AM

 tell me about it. I'm glad to be past that. Still have some slight modifications to do to get it finished up and clean but I can handle that.

Corey Prince 02-27-2013 11:24 AM

Pretty much summed up in my first post that I keep updated with current mods and future mods. Just continue to build a clean ride that can be a DD. Esky Premium Dual exhaust bumper, darker tint than I have now, BB Tune, a sub or two to add some good audio, 22' eventually.....the list continues to evolve and grow as time goes on.

Devs93 03-08-2013 09:51 AM

Old77 03-11-2013 04:44 PM

Here she is after getting 5% tint over the factory tint. The front doors are 35%. It's DARK now :)

Yes the Burb is filthy cuz I haven't had a chance to clean it after this last weekend of storms.

like the painted tie way more!!!

Old77 08-11-2013 09:19 PM

Acquired some Esky mirrors. I'm hoping to get these painted this week and installed by next weekend.

Red91 08-12-2013 08:36 PM

Those esky mirrors are gonna look good on there man! I like the led upgrades btw!

Old77 08-12-2013 08:52 PM

:waytogo: thanks! :) i do too. Makes a huge improvement and not real expensive compared to other mods. still need to do LED upgrades on the front end but that'll be in a month or two.

Bearcat91 08-13-2013 10:15 AM

where did you get your LEDs at? lookin awesome man! and those mirrors will be tits!

Old77 08-13-2013 11:48 AM

I got most of the LEDs from vleds.com as they seemed to have the best prices along with a reputation for good quality. I've heard of a lot of people getting LEDs off eBay but i'm kind of skiddish about that not really knowing what quality you're getting :) I think I may have also ordered a couple off superbrightled.com.

I'm stoked about the mirrors too! I'm hoping to get them back in time to install them this weekend :)
