thanks guys, bolt on thats pretty cool, im up there everynow and then, just usually for a delivery.

id love to swap in a 5.3 with a 4l60e (would really love the t56 but since my truck is already an auto it would just be easier). im sure the 4.8 would be better milage but every argument ive seen says that the 4.8 isnt worth the effort cause it doesnt get any better milage then the 5.3

No it dont. Worse really. Works harder than the 5.3. You want performance a stock 6.0 wouldmove oitin that dime. Or even a mild cam and good tune. And honestly get good mileage cause the trucks so lihht. But a 5.3 would be fine. Are you going to do any performance mods? Bolt ons? Cam or anything

Maybe a cam, just looking for 300hp maybe 350hp.

And could very possibly turbo it eventually but that wouldn't be for a while. Great part about an lsx swap is there is a shop near me that specializes in tuning lsxs

A 5.3 with bolt ons. Cai. Intake. Headers. Exaust. And a good tune should easily get you to your 300hp goal. Those are good turbo motors too. Everyone i know thats thrown boost to them they have loved it. And a cam plus bolt ons and tune for mods would he very very noticable.

Yea I think it was hot rod magazine that turboed a 4.8 past the 1000hp mark trying to blow it up and ran out of boost room from the controler (not fully sure its been a while since I read it). So I may leave it stock and turbo it. I figure 5 to 8psi should do awesome.

boneyard in Ohio, pull your own LM7, LQ4 or LQ9, $200 all day long.

which is where I'll be sourcing the sonoma's LS power from. already have the transdapt kit via my buddy dan

Too survive that much boost and survive with nothing more than a hone and opening up the ring gaps they are amazing little power plants!
