I just couldn't handle a 4.3 in a full size truck. I had it in my '03 Blazer Xtreme back in the day and even in a pretty small vehicle that's low to the ground it was pretty slow. It'd beat a stock Civic (which is pretty sad) but that's about it. I would have expected more pep out of it TBH....

i feel ya....id love a 350 5 speed but id settle for a 305

Yeah...a solid 305 won't win ya any races but it's not terrible. The tbi 305 in my caprice does decent and is great for cruising.

305 will smoke some tires and sound fast thats about it till you start tearing into it i think. good motors and i got damn near 20 mpgs.

A few years ago I test drove an ECSB (I believe it was a '97 ) 5-speed with a vortec 305. It drove pretty solid. Had OK pep when getting up to hwy speeds and drove real good. The only reason I can think of why I didn't buy is because the wife can't drive a stick and refuses to learn how

on the hwy I get about 20. In town the behemoth gets about 14 or 15 Oddly enough that's the best MPG of all of my vehicles My "green" footprint is almost nonexistent it appears

if you venture to gmt400 check out the thread i made about my bike. having some issues if you know anything about em...

some times i miss my 2002 civic si 30mpg all day easily 37 when babied. but ever since having the black truck iv been hooked on V8s and trucks
